Imagination Factory

Years 3-10, Self guided program

This highly interactive exhibition, developed by Questacon – The National Science and Technology Centre in Canberra, captures the spirit of innovation.

Simple machines and technologies featured include: cams, gears, pneumatics, levers, pulleys, wheels and electricity. These are brought together in ’The Energy Machine’ – a whimsical, egg-sorting and transporting gravitram, which also demonstrates several types of energy transformations. Free play exhibits such as the Wall Maze and Topple Table encourage open-ended experimentation for younger visitors.

The Imagination Factory education kit contains excursion pathway activity sheets which can be used to engage students in the exhibition, as well as pre- and post-visit activities and teacher notes.
